The Logical Developments Web Site is a Content Managed Site. Almost all of the web pages available are managed in a database, rather than via traditional web page creation involving HTML or script code. This flexible design leads itself towards simplified updates and provides instantaneous linking throughout the web site. The allows us to concentrate on producing the content for the site, and updating it frequently, instead of worrying about the mechanics of the web site itself. In addition to powering the site itself, the "engine" behind our web site allows us to provide a number of functions and operations that were not possible before. This document (dynamic content, of course) provides and introduces you to both our site and to these features.

LogDev Home Page

The Logical Developments Home Page is the launch point into the site, and contains a number of shortcuts. Very popular are the Button links to the Support Form and the Virus Alerts. The Support Form will collect and send information directly to the LogDev Support Department, where the "ticket" will be grabbed by our technicians. Virus Alerts are live feeds showing the latest virus attacks and has shortcuts to tools, information and removers to help both LogDev and customers deal with attacks.

In the center of the page are the current news items making headlines, often with links to additional details should you wish further information. Other launch points from the LogDev Home Page provide detailed information about Logical Developments (About Us!), our History and our Portfolio of projects and clients. A brief description about the process a new client often experiences with us only a click away through this Area, and we have some graphics highlighting our unique products to simplify, manage and reduce administrator workloads for networks. Across the top are the most common shortcuts to popular destinations such as Nerd News, the Knowledge Base, Articles & Info and Support Information.

Site Map

This link creates a dynamic Table of Contents of the site as of this moment in time. As a Content Managed site, the Table of Contents is automatically updated whenever changes to the site are done. This is a quick way to find whatever you are looking for.

Logon

There is a large amount of information available to "anonymous" visitors (surfers). However, if you click on a link and find yourself at the logon page, this is because you do not have the permission to view this information, because you have not yet logged on, or because this area is not yet ready for viewing. Sign up is free, and the minimum information we ask for will never be disclosed and is managed according to Logical Developments Privacy Policy, developed in alignment with PIPA and PIPEDA guidelines. The "client" level access is available to all Logical Developments' clients and other parties may also apply for this free membership.

If you already have a membership with Logical Developments (and we did our best to transfer all memberships from our old web system to this one), but cannot remember it, just enter your business eMail address into this page. In a few moments (if your account already exists), you will be eMailed your information, including your current access level.

If you are a brand new member wishing to sign up at Logical Developments, just use the New User link on this page. A minimum amount of information will be requested, and once authorized your access level will be increased to allow you access to addtional areas of our web site.

Knowledge Base

If you are looking for the Knowledge Web we have made it hard to miss. The LogDev KBase is designed specifically with our customers in mind. We believe the consistency we apply to our client network solutions is one of the core strengths of our company. We believe the IT should be a documented, repeatable experience - one that can be supported by any of the LogDev Staff, and one that many clients may support themselves should they choose to do so. The Knowledge Base - our methods for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the software we deal with daily - is key to this corporate mantra. You must register to use this section of our web, and there are several access level, depending on the type of K-Page you are requesting.

Articles

The LogDev web is a great place to skim the top IT related news. Only the items most likely to impact our clients make the cut list here, which keeps the volume down in a very noisy business. Just to help get through it, we have the "Light Side of the LogDev Cube" - our poor attempts at IT related humor.

Links

We deal with a variety of providers in hardware, software, Internet, connectivity and consulting formats. Links to the most common business partners for Logical Developments appear in this area.

Surveys

A number of surveys will be run over the course of the year, ranging from Service Level surveys to Virus Awareness. Your opinion is very important to us, and we would appreciate the few moments it may take to vote.

Classifieds

Every one of our clients has a graveyard of IT Equipment, including us. In some cases, this equipment may have considerable life left in it - just not for the current owner. For example, clients that outgrow tape drives, or hard drives, or like us, that have several excellent monitors for sales because we converted to LCD Flat Screens. In the Classifieds you will find IT Equipment for sale either by ourselves or by our customers. If you would like to place equipment into the Classifieds just send all the information you have (including a picture if at all possible) to classifieds@logdev.com.

Nerd News

The Nerd News is our most popular subscription. Published usually ten times a year, the Nerd News contains IT related information about Viruses, Licensing, Upcoming Technology, reviews of current hardware and software releases, humour about computers, users and their relationships and many other regular features. Subscription is free, your information will never be used for any other purposes, and the information requested for sign up will be guided by our Privacy Policy.

Forums

Sometimes clients want to chat with clients. The Forums at LogDev are not moderated, and can be used to start and carry on a conversation thread between customers, or visitors about topics of interest between them. 

Calendars

The LogDev Calendar shows which Statutory Holidays we are closed on, and includes information about our Emergency Business-Down Service. Corporate Events also appear for the convenience of the customer base. 

Mailing Lists

Logical Developments offers three mailing lists for subscription. The Nerd News -  our monthly newsletter on IT, Virus Alerts - a forewarning and defense information system, and our SysAdm List which is for Logical Developments System Administrators only.
